Terminator: Salvation was undeserving of the hate it got. Though it didn’t have its strong points, I admire it to this day, because it tried to do something different. It tried to stand out from the other terminator movies, that have constantly used the time travel plot device; where Skynet sends back a terminator to kill the main protagonist, while the Resistance somehow sends back a guardian to protect said protagonist. Salvation gave the fans what they wanted – a future war where man fought machine. It wasn’t perfect, but compared to T3 and the sequels that came after, it was the best after T2.
